New Military Magazine Article Feed at MNN

Monday, August 18, 2008, 02:27 PM CST [General]

Military News Network (MNN), owner of MilitaryProfiles.com, is proud to announce a military magazine article feed that is unique on the Web. The feed contains a listing of military-related magazine articles found in magazines such as Popular Science, Wired, Parameters, and National Defense.

The article feed is a great tool for researching military topics and keeping abreast of military news and information. Hundreds of magazine articles are currently available, and more are added each week.

The feed is very useful because it's not always easy finding online articles about a specific subject, as articles are often difficult to find in search engine listings.

In addition to the updated listings, you can also search for magazine articles by keyword, and once you select an article you can search for articles with similar content.

The article feed is another service of Military News Network designed to give you quick access to military news and information you desire.

You can find the most recent article listings on the Home page at www.militarynewsnetwork.com or go to the feed page at www.militarynewsnetwork.com/news.php.

    Is anyone watching the Olympics?

Sunday, August 10, 2008, 12:06 AM CST [General]

Is anyone here watching the Olympics, and if so what do you think about the 2008 Olympics in Beijing so far? I stayed up really late last night watching the opening ceremonies, and I'm not sure what to think about China anymore. China is coming across as both a nation that wants peace and harmony and also as a highly-organized nation with a singular persona that could really kick some geo-strategic arse a few years from now. So far, I'm just enjoying the spectacle and competition. Also, did anyone see the Team Handball competition today. It's a cross between basketball, soccer and hockey, and I want to play it.

The Joker, Osama bin Laden and Harvey Dent

Shades of 9/11 abound in The Dark Knight, especially in the symbolic connection between the Joker, Osama, and the all-American district attorney Harvey Dent.

Author Brad Thor on Death Threats From Islamic Extremists

In an interview with audiobooks reviewer Jonathan Lowe, published here at MNN, Brad Thor discusses his latest book (The Last Patriot) and the possibility of death threats against him from Islamic extremists for the book's controversial storyline. The storyline in question involves a true-to-life allegation that the Qur'an is missing a key text, and that radical Islamists will do anything to keep the original, complete manuscript from seeing the light of day. About the possibility of a Salman Rushdie type death threat, Thor states: "I don't relish the idea. Rushdie at one point had a $5 million bounty on his head and supposedly hundreds of Muslim assassins had traveled to London to kill him. Will I change what I have written or somehow recant and beg forgiveness for what is contained within The Last Patriot? Absolutely not. In fact, I find the hypocrisy here fascinating: Islam is a religion of peace and if you say that it isn't, we'll kill you."
